Curse you Daylight Savings Time

I have to say, I hate this time of year and all that it represents. I don't like how it starts to get dark at 4:30  in the afternoon. I don't like how it gets colder and colder. I hate how my oil bill skyrockets during these next five months and I'm still cold. I don't feel that I'm as productive during these months. The minute is gets dark, my body shuts down and I want to sleep. Which means, I basically go to work in the dark, come home in the dark, make dinner and go to bed.

On a brighter note, I have about a week/week and a half until Bound in Evil is finished. It is so mapped out in my head, I'm surprised it's not writing itself at this point but that would be too easy. This should make my editor very happy. I'm sure they are a little worried about my production lately and frankly, so have I. I have all of these great ideas in my head but the minute I sit down to write, the words don't see to flow easily.

This weekend, my husband and I attended the long awaited RI Comic Con. We had such high hopes, unfortunately it was two steps above a big flea market with costumes. It was RI's first, so I'm hoping it gets better with each passing year. The "stars" that attended were of the "B" level. They were popular in the 70's and the years were not kind to some of them. What I didn't realize is that they charge you to take a picture with them. Honestly, there was no one there I would be willing to pay $10 to stand next to and take a picture or pay them $30 to sign a picture. I found the whole thing outrageous and a little sad. Amazingly enough, we walked out of there not spending a dime and had a nice relaxing meal at the mall. So the weekend was not a total waste.

How was your weekend? Do you feel the same way about DLST as I do?

Peace out,
MRD
