The next steps

I have finished the blurbs- the 25 word blurb, the 50 word blurb, and the 150 word blurb. I can't even explain how hard it was to write a teaser blurb with only 25 words. My first draft came in at 43 words, so had to cut it down drastically. I know what your thinking. It could have been my 50 word blurb but my mind does not work that way. I have to build up from the smallest amount of words to the largest amount.

The cover questionnaire is also completed. It was very exciting to give ideas of what I want my cover for Fates Mates to look like. Now, I just have to wait for the edits and the cover to come in. Very exciting.

So what I have been noticing is that a lot of authors are creating book trailers to promote their books. Let's pretend for a minute that I have any knowledge on how to create one. Some of them that I've seen have been really cool. So the question is, do they help sell books? I am interested in what all of you have to say about this. 

The second WIP is coming along nicely, although a little slower than what I would like but the day job is a little crazy. The big deadlines have passed so, I think that the writing can increased. My goal is to have at least two books subbed out by the time Fated Mates is released in November. I think it's realistic. I secretly hope to have three or four but that might be pushing the limit. Two is realistic.

    Congrats on finishing all the blurbs and cover art forms. I've never had to write a 25 word blurb - YIKES!
    I've had a few trailers made and didn't see a result of better sales because of them.
    I know you can finish the two books...don't push yourself for three or four. This way if you do accomplish the goal it will be a bonus! :)

    A 25-word blurb. Holy Cow, I bet that was a challenge. Though, I guess I've had to come up with Tag lines before, which are 10 to 15 words, so maybe it's not so different!!

    Congrats on your progress on the 2nd WIP.

    Yeah, I have no idea if videos help sell a book or not, but once you learn how to make them, they're kind of addictive. One True Media is a good place to make free, easy videos. http://www.onetruemedia.com/

    I think book trailers are bigger for teens (but I could be very wrong).

    If it's well done, a book trailer can work wonders. I've bought a few books because of the trailer that I wouldn't have otherwise purchased. :D
